Not just downtown Houston, Texas house many renowned companies, home to many establishments, including fine restaurants, clubs, bars, theater district, and two Houston famous professional sports teams. The home of the Houston Rockets, Toyota Center is on the east side of downtown Houston Astros, while the house is located near the warehouse district. And the creation of the railway light rail, commuters can travel to the north side of the center in the far south, to the Texas Medical Center. The area contains many immense skyscrapers, including the former building of Enron’s largest corporate failures in the last ten years represents. Chevron ultimately purchased the building, and offers many of its employees here from Louisiana and California. On an interesting note, many people do not know that there is a vast network of tunnels and footpaths that are below and close to many buildings. In these tunnels there are many shops and restaurants. Downtown is also home to the South Texas School of Law, a premier Law School, which is across the street from the Toyota Center. The Houston Theatre District is the second in New York in terms of seats in an urban area. The Houston Ballet, Symphony and Alley Theatre are all located on the west side of downtown. Opposite is that Verizon Wireless Theater hosts a number of concerts and special events each month. And a number of other places, bars and clubs line Main Street (a well attended street Downtownt) hich attracts many visitors every week. Downtown Houston is also home to many renovated lofts and apartment buildings. The east side of downtown Houston is known as the Warehouse District and was formerly an industrial area. Today it is home to lofts, bars and other nightlife. Lofts at the stadium, is one of the new loft communities in the Warehouse District today. The floors are made of colored concrete and is more of a loft “soft”. This simply means that the chamber is closed from the living room. However, it is not a bedroom door and walls are more like the walls, and two bedrooms have two or three foot gap near the ceiling. As a bonus, the Lofts at the Ballpark is adjacent to Minute Maid Park. Developers have plans in the works for more shops, restaurants, construction and entertainment in the region. Post Rice Lofts, another apartment in downtown Houston, is close to the Metro Rail light on Texas Avenue. This building was the old Post Rice Hotel. All rooms have been converted into loft-style apartments. However, many renters want large areas of windows, which do not offer this feature. However, the location most ideal because it is surrounded by shops, restaurants and bars. And although Houston is a vibrant city, if you live here, you do not really need a car.
